Many people that hear the city of Los Angeles mentioned, automatically picture celebrities, glamorous restaurants and crowded nightclubs. There is no doubt this is a city of glitter and glamor, but there is more to do when it comes to the nightlife. Many people that live or visit L.A. cannot afford the expensive hot spots and dance clubs. The truth is, it all depends on what you have in mind.
Driving to the city’s west side, people will find many different sport bars, karaoke joints, etc. There is a spot called Chez Jay; it has catered to movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. This so-called dive is a place where there is lobster-tail, filet mignon and swordfish on the menu along with free peanuts to crack open and throw on the floor. Those who choose any of the west side bars and grills may just be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrities. Some may wonder into the karaoke bar called Backstage Bar and Grill and catch a famous singer jamming with the audience as they perform a song like Midnight Train to Georgia.
These hot spots do not care about how much money their patrons have, just along as they are of legal age and looking for a night of fun. Not everywhere people go in the L.A. will be judged by the amount of money they have to get in or a specific dress code that must be obeyed. There is fun for all in this expansive city.
