Napa Valley Wineries

Napa Valley in Northern California is a breath of fresh air where the skies are blue and the fields are green. Hundreds of wineries call Napa Valley their home. You can visit many without any cost and they'll even let you sample the wine. One great winery you don't want to miss is Robert Mondavi. Their winery is excellent in describing and showing the process of wine making.  After they take you on a tour of their winery, they show you where the huge barrels of wine are stored. I thought this to be very interesting. They let you sample different wines out of different barrels. They also have picnic tables outside where you can have a bottle of wine and some cheese. This is very relaxing and peaceful. They are consistently voted the best in Napa Valley. Another winery that's worth a visit is Rutherford Grove. This is one of the smaller wineries that give you an intimate tour. This winery was more up close and personal. You can sample many bottles of their excellent wine. They also had a very interesting wine opener for sale. It had two prongs which you fit into the sides of the wine bottle then you just swivel it from side to side and the cork pops out. You don't put any holes into the cork.  I bought one of these openers.When visiting Napa Valley it's a good idea for you to plan to stay overnight. Once you sample all the wines you won't be in any condition to drive home.
