Beaches to Visit on the Greek Islands

The Greek Islands have many fabulous beaches that make it a popular destination spot for tourists. There are volcanic red, black and white sand beaches, pebble beaches, and crystal clear blue Aegean waters that make Greece an excellent place to explore.
Santorini Beaches have the most spectacular and stunning landscapes in the whole world. The island of Santorini Greece is located in the middle of the Greek Islands of the Aegean Sea. It is a small group of volcanic islands and the site of the largest volcanic eruptions in the world that happened about 3,500 years ago. The Island of Santorini is famous for it's white, black and red sand. If your visiting the beaches in the summer be sure to bring a mat because the beaches can get very hot.
Crete Island is the largest of the Greek Islands and is located south of the Aegean Sea. It is considered one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations. The beaches along the south coast are less crowded. The island has historical importance as it was home to the Minoan civilization and has important archeological finds at Knosos, Phaistos, and Gorty's. Thousands of tourists flock to these ancient sites. There are several small fishing villages where the people still live with customs and beliefs from the past to keep tradition alive.
