The Chesapeake Bay offers excellent sailing and power boating. There are many things to do and places to see on the bay. There are many small islands where you can take the family for a cookout and a swim on the bay. There are many small quaint towns along the Eastern shore that are delightful places to visit. One such town is St. Michaels. St. Michaels is a unique, historic town that offers great seafood restaurants, museums and shops along the water front. There is the Inner Harbor in Baltimore that has a National Aquarium and a hands on Science Center. There are many ethnic restaurants up and down the harbor's promonade. You can board the "Constellation" which is also docked at the harbor.
There are many sports activities you can do along the bay. There is water skiing. You can go skiing in many of the bay's rivers or creeks. You can go fishing for the bay's most sought after rock fish. These fish are very tasty eating and they can get large in size. You can go crabbing for blue crabs, which is the most popular seafood in Maryland. Crabbing for blue crabs is both exciting and fun. Eating stemmed crabs in Maryland is a social event. You have to get a local person to show you how to pick the crab or you'll be lost. I've just mentioned a few places to go and a few things to do on the bay but there is much more that the Chesapeake Bay has to offer. Visit the bay and you'll see.
