Many of us need to know how to eat healthy for life. We have tried diets at one
time or another. If your like most of us you gain back the weight you
loss. The solution to this problem is to eat healthy throughout your
life. If you eat healthy you won't have to go on diets only to gain the
weight back. Does this mean you can't have any ice cream, candy, or
deserts? No, it just means you should try to limit them to maybe once a
month. There are many healthy substitutes for your sugary sweets. For
instance, fruit has natural sugar in it and it is very healthy for you.
If you need to use sugar then you should definitely use stevia. Stevia
is a natural plant extract that doesn't spike your blood sugar. In
fact, stevia is actually good for you. Also, when you eat grains or
breads be sure your eating 100% whole wheat. Otherwise, your just
filling your body with empty calories that have no nutritional value.
You should try to have a diet rich in vegetables and fruits. In fact,
these should be the main portion of your diet. It's also best to eat
raw vegetables whenever possible. This way your not cooking out the
nutrients. When you eat meat you should consume no more then three
ounces a meal. You should also stay away from red meat. Red meat
contains many unhealthy fats which aren't good for your body. One of
the best proteins to eat is fish, and salmon in particular is high in
omega three fats, these fats are good for your body. Bean soup is also
very nutritious and good for your body. The healthy fats you want to
consume are extra virgin olive oil, and nuts. Nuts provide your body
with good fats. You should avoid butter, mayo, and especially
hydrogenated oil. Hydrogenated oil is in most store bought sweets and
it is very bad for your health.
