Florida Beaches

Florida beaches are known in the United States for their warm temperatures, clear water, and the diversity of activities offered there.

Daytona Beach is a city that has a collection of beaches on the Atlantic side of Florida. Unlike almost any other beach, cars are permitted to be driven along the beach, and four wheel drive is not required. Due to the perfectly flat driving conditions, the beach is famous for its races and motorcycle events. In fact, the Daytona International Speedway and the NASCAR headquarters are both located in the city. Due to the fantastic weather, long stretches of beach, and sporting events hosted there, Daytona Beach is a very popular Spring Break location on the East Coast.

Fort Lauderdale is another famous seaside city in Florida. Fort Lauderdale Beach is one of the Florida beaches known for its boating activities. Yachts, water taxis, and fishing vessels are all commonly near this beach and at the Bahia-Mar Yacht Center, a well known marina. Numerous canals, rivers, and other waterways are toured frequently by tourists. Fort Lauderdale is also known for the restaurants and nightclubs that line its beach.

Fort Myers is a Florida city that is located on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida. Fort Myers has been described as the "City of Palms" for the abundance of palm trees in the city. The Fort Myers area includes Sanibel island, Pine Island, Fort Myers Beach (which is actually on Estero Island), and other related areas. In the area, you can even tour homes previously owned by Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.

Florida beaches offer a lot of fun and entertainment in the sun. They are popular destinations for young adults, sports fans, and vacationers.
