Things to Do in Las VegasThere is never a lack of things to do in Las Vegas. From the various infamous incarnations of adult entertainment to the unique nightlife and variety shows, Las Vegas offers something for almost anyone and more. Of course, one of the things to do in Las Vegas is gamble. Gambling is everywhere - from the airports to the hotels, and even in some bathrooms. The Strip is where many tourists go to gamble in the newest, fanciest hotels and casinos, like the Wynn or the Bellagio. However, for a more classic Vegas experience, try visiting downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street. The Golden Nugget is the largest and most historic casino in downtown Vegas, and houses almost 2,000 rooms as well as a casino and numerous entertainment venues. Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel is another famous downtown hotel, and hosted the World Series of Poker until 2005. Seeing one of the many variety shows is another one of the things to do in Las Vegas. Famous Las Vegas shows include the now retired Siegfried & Roy show at the Mirage, Blue Man Group performances at the Venetian, a plethora of Circue du Soleil shows, and comic performances by notable comedians, like Penn & Teller. Shows on the Las Vegas Strip are usually expensive, averaging at about 100 dollars or more, and tickets must often be purchased in advance. The Las Vegas Strip is also home to a roaring nightlife scene, as evidenced by the numerous clubs and bars along the Strip. One well known club is the Coyote Ugly bar & dance saloon. This uproarious bar encourages women to dance on the bar or stage, pours shots freely down the throats of the more outspoken visitors, and generally features a rough and tough attitude that makes it a unique experience even in Vegas. A classier, celebrity-laden club on the Strip is Pure inside Caesar's Place. Pure features a breathtaking outdoor area called the Terrace that provides a great view of the Strip as well as premium table service. The club also has short shows in the Pussycat Doll Lounge by a variety of performers every 30 minutes. The rush and excitement of the things to do in Las Vegas can be overwhelming, but the experience is always memorable and most often worthwhile.
